The Draconian Archetype

by Kommandant

Ken Goodey Kommandant sound musically similar to Marduk, but from what I’ve read they seem to be rebelling against certain clichéd aspects of BM and I respect that. Artists of any genre can become too obsessed with their own purity and perhaps need a kick up the arse, creatively-speaking, in order to rekindle the spark that ignited them in the first place. I’m not saying Kommandant will be the ones to deliver that kick, but their attitude imbues their music with a freshness I haven’t heard in a while. Favorite track: Atavistic Species.

Spoonbräu 2014 - Black Metal (US)

Here is a band you can't forget due to their vibe. I discovered them a few years ago and said I will deepen their discography. Time has passed without doing it but their name never quit my mind. Now I have remembered and I really admit that this band creates a fricking atmosphere that molt your guts into the deep side of war. Favorite track: Hate is Strenght.
SamsaraT

SamsaraT Kommandant released a split with Nominon in which the latter covered an Impaled Nazarene song - the Finnish are a major influence here. This is archetypal war black metal, updated for our newish century, so horrible already.
